Syracuse Football Program against West Virginia: An exciting game show

Syracuse University football team and West Virginia University football team had a great match on Friday night. The Syracuse University football program really has a chance to retain the Schwartzwalder Trophy for the second straight year. It had got first time Victory at the session of 2000-01 when West Virginia University travels to the Carrier Dome for a Big East Conference match up. It realized like a 60-minute scene in a Disney movie. Not one or two or three things went right for the Syracuse University football program Friday night in the presence of a 45,265 fans at the Carrier Dome, but everything did.

After finishing the game head coach of Syracuse University football team Doug Marrone said in an interview, "I am just proud of the kids, I am proud of the assistant coaches, I am proud of the administration". He also added, "The story is really not here (with me), I don't know how many answers I can give you. We made plays. The kids executed, they played extremely hard. They always have. We made plays at the right time".

As West Virginia University football team’s junior quarterback Geno Smith and his trio of talented wide receivers -- junior Tavon Austin and sophomores Stedman Bailey and Ivan McCartney had a great preparation in regard to the game, experts thought there was no way that the Syracuse defense could stop them.

Syracuse senior defensive end Chandler Jones, who missed the last five games said, "(Defensive Coordinator) coach (Scott) Shafer did a good job, did a great job, of actually knowing when to call blitzes and knowing when they were going to run, that’s what I like to congratulate him specially".

The Orange protection completed the game with four sacks, forced Smith to throw two interceptions; one came deep inside Syracuse University’s area midway through the second quarter and held the Mountaineers to their second-lowest point total of the season.

Undoubtedly, it will be Syracuse University’s toughest match up of the time of year. Not only is WVU's offense one of the best in the nation, its defense as well as attack has the speed and talent to grasp the Orange's attack at bay. It's a good thing that defensive backs Shamarko Thomas and Orlando Fisher and defense end Chandler Jones will be healthy because Syracuse University will need every capable body to decelerate the Mountaineers. That is why, it can easily be said that a game like this may not occur this season, but one thing’s for sure. It was one heck of a demonstration.
